When you lose someone you love, planning a funeral can be difficult. Sometimes funerals can encompass very little of your loved one’s personality, culture, values and wishes, when they should highlight the person they were and remember and celebrate the way they left their mark on our lives and in the world.
A celebration of life ceremony can incorporate traditional and non-traditional funeral elements, including readings, music and prayers. The aim of the celebrant is to create a ceremony that reflects the life they led and the legacy they leave behind.
I will spend time with you and your family and gain an understanding of your loved one and your wishes. We can share your loved one’s story in a unique and creative way, with laughter and tears, acknowledging the distinctive elements that defined them and encompassing the fundamental characteristics you loved.
A celebration of life should be a therapeutic, uplifting occasion with love, humour and healing. You may not know what you want, but might be certain what you don’t want; that’s fine, I can help with suggestions and direction where needed, though I won’t impose any faith based agenda.
